Overnight Camps
Summer Staff for overnight camps specifically serve campers ages 8-18 coming from diverse, low-income, and underserved backgrounds. The summer staff’s goal is to be a positive role model for campers, provide motivation and suggestions for overcoming challenges, and help spiritually mentor their relationship with God.
Poiema Program
Poiema Staff specifically serves highschoolers’ ages 15-18 who are seeking to have an opportunity to grow spiritually while playing an integral role of service to summer camp at Camp of the Hills. Poiema camp sessions are two weeks long and provide an enriching opportunity for staff to learn and grow through serving others and diving deeper into discipleship study.
Day Camp
Summer Staff for day camps specifically serves children ages 4-8 years old who cannot yet participate in our Overnight Summer Camp Program due to age. A typical day of Day Camp includes TimberNook experiences, lunch, devotional & worship, crafts, snacks, and activities such as slingshot, archery, low ropes, canoeing, mud construction, and pavilion games.

Nurse Assistant
Primary duties and responsibilities
- Medication Administration
- Administer camper prescription medication daily
- Administer over the counter medication to counselors and campers when necessary
- Be sure all medication is properly labeled and not expired
- Medical Emergencies
- Respond to emergencies in a timely manner
- Administer appropriate medical aid as needed
- Contact local emergency responders when necessary
- Medical non-emergencies
- Provide first aid
- Assess injuries and illnesses
- Assess the need for a physician’s evaluation
- Keep the clinic clean and well stocked with supplies

Discipleship Coordinator
Primary duties and responsibilities
Staff Development:
- Build positive relationships & rapport with summer staff to help equip them for Summer
- Help develop content for summer staff meetings (TW, & Weekly Meetings throughout summer)
- Train Summer Staff in best practices for appropriately facilitating cabin bible studies, christ connections, & spiritual conversations with their campers.
- General support to Summer Coordinator (ie spiritual/relational aspects of staffing)
Camp Programming:
- Teach campers about God’s love through bible studies, worship times, and personal example
- Lead the Evening Worship & Devo (plans & materials)
- Lead the Reenactment (updates to script, assignment of roles, manage practices & rehearsals, weekly evaluations and modifications, costumes, etc)
- Review the Poiema Coordinator’s & Day Camp Coordinator’s spiritual content plans to assure it is aligned with Camp theme, mission, and methods.
Personal Example: Be a positive example for campers & staff through both words and actions
- Maintain healthy boundaries with campers & staff
- Maintain personal spiritual disciplines leading up to and throughout summer
