Here at Camp of the Hills, we have been bee keeping since 2019. It is invigorating to get out into the bee yard and check the hives – the gentleness and focus that you have to maintain, the amazing metaphors that you see in the ways bees were designed by God that apply to our own lives, the sweet moment if you see the queen! It can be a spiritual practice in and of itself to take care of them, teaching you gentleness, patience, perseverance, and humility.

We love to share our love of bees and the awe-inspiring lessons they teach us with others, so book a Hive Tour or a Bee Keeping Demo by using the buttons below!

The Hive Tours include a full, hands-on experience at our hives. We provide the tools, safety gear, and a list of required clothing. The experience can last anywhere from 1-4 hours, depending upon the heat and stamina of the group. Group size is limited to 5 people per visit.

The Bee Keeping Demo is an educational overview of materials, tools, and methods based on the age/interest level of the group. It will also include a demonstration frame of bees in a wooden & plexi-glass container.  Group size is limited to a max of 20 people at a time, and can be scheduled as one of the activity rotations during an Outdoor Education field trip or overnight trip.
